Like my friends and I did A Levels but why do they look down on BTECs when their friend is doing a BTEC?

Some people feel that BTECs, being primarily assessed by coursework, are easier than A levels.

A few universities take the view that they are not good preparation for an exam-heavy university course. For example, Oxford say here that "...most Applied General qualifications (such as BTECs, Cambridge Technical Diplomas or UAL Diplomas) are unlikely to be suitable for making a competitive application by themselves, though they could be considered if taken alongside A-Levels, depending on the course applied for."
