Hi I’d love to apply to queens for medicine but am worried that The lovely local students will stay within their friendships and not feel the need to socialise with an English person. I can see from older posts that often NI stay in their school cliques and go home at weekends - but has it changed more recently ? Also wondering if there are a few more English Welsh and. Scottish students coming for medicine than perhaps some other subjects? Thanks!

Hi, NI student starting this year too, yeah most of my friends seem to be going home at weekends. However you'll definitely find a welcoming atmosphere here and most will be happy to make new friends at uni while keeping up old friendships, in my case nobody else from my school is doing medicine this year so I'm looking forward to meeting new people on the course. Also even on weekends I believe there are events, trips and other activities put on by the uni for those staying up where you'll find a lot of other rUK and international students in the same boat.
