Can I still get a student loan for a PGCE when I have already done 4 years?
Hello,
I did a first year for a different course in the year when COVID happened and switched to another degree in sept 2020, I am now finished in that degree and want to quickly apply for a PGCE before the september deadline teaching mathematics. I think there is a bursary for 29K however the university will charge 9250 tuition fees. Will the fact that this is a PGCE in mathematics be any sort of special circumstance or would I have to pay these tuition fees out of pocket?

PGCE funding is exempt from previous study and qualification rules.
You could have taken 20 years to complete a BSc and you would still get funding for a PGCE
