compensate a core module?
can a university give a compensated pass to a core module, if there was a procedural error and exam placed under review due to too hard difficulty

I've looked at the Academic Regulations for quite a few different universities, and I've never seen an approach to compensation / condonement which included core modules. That's not to say that a uni couldn't include core modules under these circumstances - you'd have to directly check with the uni concerned.
