Is this a rude, neglectful thing to say and do?

I was watching the whole day an event on TV yesterday in the living room with me and my sister's husband and we were amicable to each other

We are polite and nice to each other and we are both in our early 30s

As he walked in from work I greeted him politely again

Minutes and moments later I met him at the landing upstairs, I said "you can go downstairs to watch TV if you want" "I'll be in my room"

He said "oh ok"

Is this ok? Or is it considered rude and neglectful?

Give the man a break? Who knows what sort of day he has had? Some people just need a bit of time and space to chill and relax. Don't think anything of it.
