Didn’t get ID for a think 21

I have just asked someone for ID in a shop as from my counter they looked quite young, however as i walked over and started saying can I have some ID, I could clearly tell they were 30+. Will I get fired for this since I asked but then he didn’t have any ID but was clearly 30+

The rules are clearly stated " you can ask for ID if you suspect that the person is not 21 as per your shop rules and regulations on this.

Don't panic as you won't be fired okay as only doing your job because you thought they were under the age so you asked for ID.

When you ask someone for ID you need to make sure that they have it to show you or get another member of staff to double check that they agree with you that they are old enough.
