Attractiveness is a mixture of appearance and personality. First impressions are weighted towards appearance but in a long term relationship it’s more like 50:50 importance. Some people are more driven by appearance than others and of course very attractive people usually have lots of choices

Just because someone knows you well doesn't mean you have compatible personalities. Having one thing in common isn't enough; conversations, shared attitudes to morals, finance, familty, there's many more aspects to a relationship.
