Is this unusual for a Cambridge MPhil Application

Hello everyone,

I recently applied for an MPhil at the University of Cambridge. To my surprise I was invited rather rapidly to an interview that will take place on 10 January. This is as my application is incomplete as my second referee did not submit their reference yet. Is this unusual as I did not even believe my application was relayed to the academic staff?

Thank you,
Joseph

I can’t speak for Cambs specifically, but a master’s application can be turned around in a day if the minimum necessary information and documents have been provided. With regards to the second reference, many unis will decide whether to make you an offer first, and then make it conditional on provision of the reference.

Hi Admit-One,

Thank you for your response. That makes a lot of sense.

All the best,
Joseph
