Can anyone give me any success stories of students who took a gap year and received contextual offers from their achieved grade?

Perhaps I’ve misunderstood your post, but taking a gap year would not automatically qualify you for a contextual offer unless you already fulfil the criteria elsewhere. However, I can say that I worked abroad and then for the NHS for 3 years upon leaving college, and have applied to uni this year meeting the ‘mature student’ criteria for a contextual offer (I’m 21 now). I received a contextual offer from Swansea which was 2 grades below standard entry requirements.

Most Unis will allow a gap year with you still eligible for Contextual offers - but you do need to check with each Uni you intend to apply to - phone rather than email at this stage, its quicker.
