TNA first placement

I’m a TNA in an outpatient clinic and I have just started my first placement in inpatients, does anyone have any tips or recommendations on how to get through the placement. I had my first shift yesterday and it was different to what I’m used to and I found that difficult. Any advice going forward

Registered nurse & practice supervisor/assessor to students here.
I'd advise you get used to the routine first - buddying up with a HCA for a few shifts will help. Getting used to washing, feeding, toileting, checking pressure areas, doing obs and blood sugars (and when you need to do all of this) will really help you get used to the environment - and get some proficiencies done, too!
