Which course is best for me in this field
That is a very broad question! Can you be more specific? what are your likely grades, what do you want to do with it, where in the country would you like to study?

Which course is best for me in this field

Hi Shanraza,

It really depends on what you want to do. If you know what kind of job you want afterwards then going for a degree that specialises in that area more would help - I want to go into AI and therefore I chose my degree at Heriot-Watt which is Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence). However, if you're not sure yet which field you want to go into after studying then I'd recommend going for a baseline Computer Science degree and you can then specialise during your masters if you wish or just go and find a job you like. Computer Science is still a really great degree on its own.

If you want to do a Computer science degree that specialises in an area then some of the most common options include:

Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence)

Computer Science (Games Programming)

Computer Science (Data Science)

Computer Science (Software Engineering)

Computer Science (Cyber Security)

When looking don't worry if the degrees aren't written exactly as above, it may be Computer Science & Games Programming or just Games Programming. These changes normally refer to what emphasis is put on computer science and what emphasis is put on the second part but really when looking at the modules provided for the course you can see if it seems like a good fit.

I understand that this can all be very overwhelming but don't worry. You'll figure it all out. I'd recommend just start looking at universities typing in computer science into the search bar, seeing what courses come up and then read the modules. If the modules sound interesting make a note of the name of the degree and then keep going. You'll probably end up with a list that's stacked in one type of degrees favour.

I hope this helps a little and if you have any more questions please feel free to ask!
