York Uni Politics & IR assessment

I was wondering how you are assessed on the Politics and IR course at York, is it regular examinations and/or are there finals in the 3rd year?

Hi! 🙂

I asked the department and this is their response:

Each module throughout your time here on a Politics and IR programme at York is assessed. This means that there are multiple assessments a year rather than only having 'finals' in the 3rd year. There are also a variety of assessment formats - while a lot of modules are assessed through essays, some are assessed through creating policy reports or writing for a non-specialist audience, which develops important, employable skills.
