University: Birmingham
Course: International Business & French
Date Application sent: 10th Nov
Decision: Conditional
Offer conditions: AAB
Your reaction: Higher than my predicted grades, and totally unachievable.

University: Aston, Birmingham
Course: Business & French
Date Application Sent: 10th Nov
Decision: Conditional
Offer conditions: ABB
Your reaction: Higher grades than the requirements, was supposed to be a back-up.

(if anyone knows why i'm getting such high offers, let me know. i suspect my personal statement was awful)

University: ULIP (University of London Institute in Paris)
Course: French Studies
Date Application Sent: 10th Nov
Decision: Interview!
Your reaction: happy that i've got an interview, hope it goes well.

Still waiting to hear back from Manchester and Chester

Both Birmingham and Aston gave you their typical offer; I just looked on UCAS. They won't give you a lower offer because you have low predicted grades.

Hey guys,
I got unconditionals (of sort) from Warwick and Bristol (M100 law).
Was just hoping if you guys could tell me which is better of sorts?
Maybe in terms of student life and prestige of school?
p.s keep in mind i'm an international student.
Thanks

As you are international, Id reccomend going for a campus uni i.e Warwick as it may settle you in better and it'll be easier to make friends. Its very highly respected and a lovely uni

Congratulations on your offers!

The difference between the two in terms of prestige is negligible, though their law courses are very different (so I've been led to believe). I think Bristol is a much more traditional course, whereas Warwick is a bit more contemporary and links each area of law to practical examples. I'm not a law student at either, so don't take my word for it - but, as this is what I've heard, I'd recommend looking into both courses more thoroughly and see which one you'd rather study for 3 years.

As for student life, again they are very different. Bristol is in the middle of a city that's pretty renowned for a good student experience, good night life, culture, etc. Warwick is a campus, and it's closest city is Coventry which (from my experience) isn't particularly great. Some people love living on Warwick's campus (one of my friends is there studying History at the moment, and she loves the campus and how everything revolves around the SU), others have described it as a "bubble" that quickly becomes boring. Again, you need to decide which 'student life' will suit you best. All Universities will offer a 'good' student life, but only if it suits you as an individual.

Best of luck!
Rejected from RHUL.
Actually quite surprised by that, even though I never really plan to go there anyway
I just applied to fill the space.

Anyway 2 offers from University of Nottingham:
BA Spanish and Contemporary Chinese Studies and MSci Contemporary Chinese Studies.
I was over the moon
Though I can't decide which to have as my firm.

Also offer from Nottingham Trent:
BA Spanish and Chinese. Possible Insurance.

An offer from University of Sheffield:
BA Chinese Studies with Spanish. Also a possible Insurance.

Someone help me make up my mind?

nice one  Meteorology at Reading is absolutely amazing, best decision I ever made!!
I'm very pleased with my UCL offer!!! Two 4's on any of my AP exams, which I suppose would correspond to an A or a B in A-Levels? I have a cousin whose taken both AP exams and A-Levels and said that getting an A* would be equivalent to a 5 and an A/B to a 4. Correct me if I'm wrong as I know jack all about A-Levels.
