Have you ever met someone on public transport?

So I'm sure we've all seen someone on a bus or a train or whatever who we think is attractive.

Has anyone here ever actually started a conversation with someone on public transport and actually gotten to know them well?

Well I was on this bus one time, and a fat 16yo girl came and sat in the seat in front of me. She was a bit chavvy and after a while she said "I am not going to bite you" in an attempt to get a conversation going. My stop came 30 seconds after this and I ignored her until the end:creep:

I don't want to have a child and become one of those chavvy teen parents who spend all day at train stations with prams, smoking. :grr:

No, never. I'm always the only person on the bus.

No. Creepy old people sometimes try and talk to me, but that's about it. Why, do you have a story you want to tell?

I always get pervs and old people talking to me on the bus/train. I hate people talking to me on public transport. I like to travel in peace and not have someone talk to me so that everyone can hear.
No, never. It's socially unacceptable and creepy.

Edit: Ok, maybe once to ask the time or something or a random passing comment, but nothing more.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Sliding Doors yet :p:

I've also had pervy guys trying to crack onto me and get my number. Not good. Fortunately I'm not an obvious target so it's only happened a few times. My sisters get it loads

Tbh i've had the odd small discussions on public transport but nothing serious and life changing.

One time i got onto a train in my motorbike race gear after a race and was still a little(read: a lot) covered in mud and this random young couple started talking to me then as their friends or family raced bikes aas well.
I never initiate conversation with strangers on public transport, the only time i've ever done this was when we were sitting behind a well known ex professional footballer on the way back from an England friendly. If he was an average bloke i'd probably have left him alone.

If i'm travelling on my own and someone talks to me i'll more than happily have a conversation with them if they look 'normal'. I've had this a few times but nothing beyond small talk.

I consider myself rather lucky guys don't have to worry about that as much. Public transport is bad enough without wierdos hitting on you repeatedly. :3

Yes, I occasionally get approached by perverts and/or pensioners.

This is why I walk into town nowadays.

Actually yes....
I met a handful of persons on the bus (the journey takes an hour).

They are usually talkative persons though..
A mini conversation starts and someone might lightly nudge me to participate.
Sometimes jokes are involved.......really good ones too .

Taking the bus is one way I can socialise.
On many occasions though the bus is a dead zone (People minding their own business :s-smilie:)
ahhhhhh i was gonna approach this girl i see on the tube every monday- she is really attractive but i asked my girl mates and they all said it wud be creepy if a stranger approached them- so i wont think of approaching the girl on the tube who looks a lil bit older than me

i guess ill have to stick with the storyline in my imagination :s:
Stunning what looked to be brazilian/english mix (my best guess!) on the tube giving me all the right signals but just couldnt do it...also biggie came up on my ipod, "biggie biggie biggie cant you see sometimes your words just hypnotize me!!..doodood"

This i like to travel without talking to anyone.I do not mind old people too much but i remember once i was on a bus with my friend it was 9:30pm he got off at his stop and this man was just in a compelte gaze at me from start of the jorney to finnish,I did not tell my friend as he was sitting pretty close to us i remember as i got up to get off at my stop so did he!! luckly he did not do anything still a bit creepy tho.

Most recently some weird eastern europe uggo (yes harsh but true) sat by me on the tram and started asking me silly questions like where did i study at.I gave him nothing but one word answeres he got the message and was kind enough to just leave me alone.

If you’re on a bus, you could simply approach her and say, “I think you are very attractive and sexy and I would like to share your company one-on-one at some point in the near future…” Then, let the conversation take off from there.
So, are people here saying they've never had a drunken chat on the bus/train/tube after a night out?

WTF....

Aaw, harsh! You could have just smiled at her at least.
