Original post by IamBeowulf
I thought the UKCAT didn't matter for the BM6

Original post by Honey:)
If you dont mind me asking, what were your predicted grades and ukcat like?

UKCAT doesn't matter....

but may influence the choice if it's a tie breaker
HUGE WELL DONE TO EVERYONE WHO HAS INTERVIEWS ON THE 14TH.....

where is it?

as some of us current BM6 will come down and say hi....

BethanyJ
I'm assuming it'll be in the same place as last year cos we've had our PP moved into building 32
They don't give you long between telling you about your interview and the interview date do they =/ haha

last year we only had 2 weeks notice...

and it's better as that way you don't really have much time to prepare answers etc..

go suited and booted....

cos you can never be too formal (well, I suppose you can if you go in a tux)...and it won't impact you badly

go too casual...and although officially it won't affect you....it probably will as it is a medical school interview....

it's one of the few things you can control....so play it safe

I had (and still have) a goatee....

so just make sure it's all neat and tidy etc.

nothing excessive....no bin laden-esque beards or crazy styles.....

Does this mean that everyone else who hasnt got an interview is not likely to get it? Or that maybe our application is not good enough?
When was your lots interview? This time last year?

calm down dear....

this is only the first batch of interviews....

they go well into march and people even on the very last day can get offers

I was one of the first to be interviewed on the 18th jan (very early start this year reflects more applicants)

if your application isn't good enough, you'll get a rejection....stop worrying and relax

there's this book that everyone's recommending on the interview thread - "Medical School Interviews" by George Lee and Olivier Picard so you can check that out.
And there's some examples of questions that might give you at med schools on the isc medical website.

Hi  I'm just wondering how they use your academic profile - do they use AS grades or just look at your predicted grades and if you fit the GCSE profile they ask for?
And is there preference for those with bigger and better grades, or is the emphasis mainly on your PS and reference?
