My advice, chin up or you won't see who's looking back at you.

But nah I can pull (learn to read posts properly bro), am just wondering if a guy would mind if he was my first bf when I finally decide I'm ready to commit to someone (plus like them enough).

I'm 19 too and have neither been in any relationships. I haven't even had my first kiss but I guess it maybe down to me being muslim so girls never approach me in the right kind of light. Plus I'm in a town which is mainly white atheist so also a factor. Damn can't wait to start uni in September as it looks like the only way i'll find someone...

Just to clarify I haven't even been on a date before (have been asked but the guys in question only seemed interested in one thing, plus they weren't particularly nice and I thought I could do better). I am really ambitious and focused on my career which doesn't help matters, but I don't want my first date to be after I graduate or something!

It's better to have some kind of standards and wait instead of going for the first person who shows you any attention. I know a few people who did the latter and have subsequently regretted it. I mean why go on a date with someone you don't even get along with?

Besides, you're 19 not 90. I'm at uni too and i know it may seem like everyones sleeping around or has another half but that's hardly the case. I look at some of my friends who've never had a relationship (both genders) and there's nothing wrong with them. It's just not happened for whatever reason.

You might meet someone at the mosque/through an Islamic group or something? Plus you're bound to make loads of new friends (of both genders) at the ISOC at uni in Sep (am not Muslim but know many who are)

Would this put any guys off/make me seen as weird? I'm at uni and I'm reasonably attractive/have a normal social life etc. It's just that I went to a small all-girls school (the parents were pretty strict) and after I got to uni I've been too busy for a relationship though a couple of guys I didn't really fancy have asked me out.

I'm Christian too which seems to give people the impression I'm a prude, though I've obviously made out with guys when drunk in clubs and stuff. I've never slept with anybody either though as I don't do ONS.

Thanks

You're Christian yet you make out with guys and get drunk. You should read the bible and understand your religion first and not just follow society.

I'll probably get negged for this.

No. The all-girls school thing? Positive. Shouldn't be but it is. Mention the fact you still have the uniform and I'd drool.

The Christian thing isn't either. Sometimes it just doesn't happen for a while.

You have nothing to worry about. And if you really do still have the uniform, throw me a PM. Tyvm.
I'm 19 and never had a girlfriend and never been on a date or had had sex etc either

Not living exactly according to the literal translation of the Bible does not make one a bad Christian

I didn't say that. Maybe it came across like i implied it but still, learning more about your religion is a good thing.

......What?

I can't see their being a problem, as someone else has said there are much more pressing issues than being in a relationship, like exams, getting a job, having money, having a house...

I'm sitting here thinking about spending Easter Sunday tweaking WINE to work with Fallout: New Vegas on Linux, whilst thinking about putting down my netbook which is also running Linux to read "Memoirs of a Radical Lawyer" by Michael Mansfield, I doubt I'm going to be in a relationship soon, don't worry. And I'm only 15, I can't really imagine how I'll be when I'm 19

No. Why?

You're questioning whether the situation you're in is normal. Sounds like you're confused hence my advice above.

Why would it put me off? 19 is still young. Lots of people don't have relationships (well not ones with any meaning anyway) till at least this age . I know society tells you 'you have to be in a relationship or you're a failure' and 'being single is weird 'and stuff like that but it isn't the case. There is no shame in waiting and there is no point just rushing into a relationship 'just because' as it probably won't work out and then you'll be worse off than before.

So just relax, enjoy your single life and then when the right bloke comes along take the opportunity. Simples.

I thought christians didn't believe in getting drunk and stuff like that ...

The fact I haven't dated anyone isn't because I'm Christian, although the two facts combined tend to make people assume I'm prudish. I think my situation is fairly normal, I was just curious as to guys would think but didn't want to ask close male friends. Also, no offence, but given that you're not Christian yourself why did you try to advise me on my own religion? Depending on how you interpret Christianity, most of us drink and, yes, some do have sex before marriage (not that I've done this yet).
Hey are you a medical student? Also of you are not willing to put out until after marriage then most guys would just go elsewhere.
