Boys who Don't like Football, how do you cope with your life?

This is just a random thought i have in my mind, hence why i made this thread.

I Don't watch football and it makes me depressed :frown:. It makes feel like im gay and i always imagine in an scenario where if this was actually how i felt towards men then i would seriously be depressed.

It is sort of a gay situation if you don't like football because men will question you over and over and over and over and over again. This isn't exaggeration, this is the truth, the experience is part of the reason i'm a social outcast.

I have depression and at the moment i want to leave London because i'm a nobody. If only if i had a personality and i loved football, i would go back to Nigeria. But i wouldn't because i don't watch football and in that country would challenge me for it. Years ago when i visited nigeria, my uncle saw through me that i don't like football after i pretended i did.

Anyway how do you boys cope that you have to be judged by others just because you don't watch football?

btw my dad likes football and he even questions why i don't like it. It feels like im living a gay disabled ****ty life

Nobody I'm friends with nor anybody in my family like football. It's just not something which impacts on my life at all, I don't like it, I don't care about it and I don't hang around with people who talk about it

Do you like football?

I understand its my own life but i seriously do NOT have a personality.
Erm, it's not hard. Just say that you're not interested in it. I don't like watching it although I used to play sometimes. It's boring.

All the men I know that don't like football are a lot deeper and that's sexy.

However I remember one guy started feigning liking football to just have something to talk about with other guys and not to feel gay... Sad sad life.
They watch some other sport obviously

I was like that when i was in School, I used to pretend to like football and ****. It was just so pathetic of me. I only stopped when i realise how the game works and the football teams.

I'm black, it would look more strange of me not liking football. I do TRY to watch but i end up changing channels after 20 mins or something

How do you feel about other men who don't watch football? Be honest
You're clearly surrounding yourself with the wrong people. I hate watching sports and most of my friends don't watch it religiously either. You shouldn't listen to those people or care for their opinions. Everyone derives pleasure from different things. I had friends in high school who used to force themselves to watch it just so they had something to talk about and that's just sad. Look for people who enjoy the same things you do, or at least do not judge others and go around making stupid assumptions.

Let me ask a question? you personally, how do you feel about men not liking football.

I do know people who don't like football but they have a life! i don't, im suicidal because of the current issues im facing.
A lot of the guys I know do watch football, but then most of them I met at uni that lived in my flat didn't watch it, so it's not a big deal. If your dad's life revolves around talking about football I feel bad for him and bad for you to have to put up with it.

I'm not a big fan of cricket in fact I don't even like watching it at all. I play sometimes but then again I wouldn't put it down as an interest of mines. Do you watch any other sports by any chance?

I think his entire post pretty much answers that question.

Black or not, if you don't like football, you don't like football. I don't see how any half-decent person would have an issue with that. It's just a matter of personal preference.

Exactly. I don't watch any other sports. Maybe if olympics or cycling or whatever.

I think the UK main sport realistically is football. Not many boys like other sport other than Football

Watching most sports bores me to death. Watching other people have fun IS depressing.

Porn is the exception... or so I've heard.

I don't think one is better than the other. They're just men who like other stuff. Watching sports is anyway such an unproductive passive way of spending your time. I don't get this pressure people put on guys to enjoy sports.

I feel like there have to be other issues here if you're suicidal. This is such a minor issue, which shouldn't be an issue in the first place. I have faced depression and suicidal thoughts of my own over the past 3 years, and a big part of it was because I didn't feel good enough. Good enough to be a human being. Just because I didn't blend in with the majority of guys my age, didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things. I used to look at other people and feel like they were living such happy, fulfilling lives while I didn't have a life. But the more I opened up about it and spoke to people, the more I realised it's how most people feel. No one is living a perfectly happy life. The happier people do not care for the opinions of others. They only care about what they think about themselves. You will only be happy if you like who you are.

If you feel like you do not have a life, work on it. I did. Do the things you enjoy. Try things you never thought you would to see if you would enjoy them. Learn more about things you're passionate about. Do not think that to "have a personality" you have to be a certain kind of guy, who looks a certain way, has a certain number of friends and enjoys certain things. It is hard, but stop caring about what uncles and friends have to say about you not liking football, or anything else for that matter. Distance yourself from people who make you feel bad about who you are and what you like.

But what about you personally. I want to understand your attitude towards men who don't like football, that was part of the thread i actually wanted to make clear.

on twitter or facebook, most people would say is 'because there or a closet'.

I think it's pretty self-explanatory what my stance is. Obviously I don't think there's owt wrong with not being into football (or sport/s in general). Why do you feel the need to ask when it's pretty clear what we think?
