Study abroad student: Is there a Quiz Bowl/Trivia Competition society?

There is a quiz @ Cartmel every 2 weeks on the Sunday. The questions tend to be very mixed, with topics ranging from films and actors to capital cities.

Furness has a pub quiz every Wednesday in the bar, various rounds that usually include a music round, a picture round of some sort and a specialist topic round. Being British I can't really say if the questions are UK-centric, but there's always a wide range of questions.

Hi, I'm going to be going to Lancaster this Lent quarter. At my uni, we have a quiz bowl/trivia type club, and I heard there are a lot of societies in Lancaster.
If so, would you say the topics are very UK-centered? I'm from Brazil, so I don't know much about English culture... but I hope to meet people who have interests like mine !

what is prize?

There isn't a specific society for it - UK universities don't seem to be into competitive quizzing in the same way that other countries are. The exception to this is University Challenge, a TV quiz show between universities which Lancaster usually tries to get a team on to - I don't think that study abroad students can take part, though
