MSc Metal and energy finance (Imperial College London)

Hi,

I'm really interested in this MSc as it would let me specialise in petroleum economics.

Unfortunately it's only offered at imperial which is great but means it's going to be very difficult to get in.

I have written a relatively strong personal statement (Can still do with alot of work) and CV, pretty much no longer need any help from TSR would like to hear from other applicants to imperial business school/engineering this year though.

from the open day i'm average at best lol. there's applicants with internships/jobs at banks with managers who know lecturers etc.

So i'm not really putting my eggs into this basket and have applied to LBS, Edinburgh, UCL and LSE. Fingers crossed i get accepted by Imperial and all these other applications are irrelevant though :P. Have you sent off your application for this course?

Yup, around mid november if im not mistaken and i only applied for imperial. Last year i got offers from birmingham, newcastle, edinburgh but no luck for the scholarship so i rejected the offers and try again this year.

Im not really sure about my chance here. Low gpa from electrical engineering (3.23/4), average personal statement i think, low ielts, 1 reference from work and 1 from my former lecturer. How about you?

Pretty much the same
2.1 in Petroleum Engineering
Decent references from lecturers
Managment internships/jobs
Average PS/CV.

If i get UCL/LSE and get rejected by ICL i will probably go to one of them as I live in London. Will probably say no to edingburgh without a sholarship though

you will definitely know whether I get rejected or accepted. although I applied a whole month after you so i'm not sure they'll get back to me as fast lol.

Just wondering where did you do your undergrad and did you have any relevant internships/experience?

Did my Bachelors at the University of Manchester (graduated in June).
Had an 8 month + management internship at a small company
Also have had a little bit of experience in the finance sector of the NHS (British health service), as well as acting as a graduate manager for one of the departments (mostly to make money for my masters).

So not really as relevant as your experience :/ but lets see hopefully I get admitted lol.

I don't have the sum but have enough for the deoposit lol.
british government will give me a £10,000 loan so I just have to pay another 6,000 from my wages.

Also I live in london so no living costs (living in family home)

For me it will be 33k tuition+12k living cost. Must take into account the books, field trips, flight tickets etc lets just say 50k in total hahaha. Damn it's good coming from UK/EU.
