Having thought about it seems like the only way I can avoid having a massive existential crisis as I get older (well minimise one anyway, or make it worse as I know these things I have brought into the word are going to get old and die as well). Currently I think 28 is the best age to have kids. When your kids are teenagers you are in your 40s which is plenty young enough to do exciting things with them etc.

That gives me five years to sort myself out. That's not very long :-/ I wanna be 19 again :-/

First things first, finding a suitable and reciprocal woman who doesn't drive me nuts :tongue:

Then can worry about kids.

I think giving yourself deadlines to have completed various milestones by is generally a bad idea. Because when you fail to achieve it, it makes a midlife crisis more likely.

'Settling down', as in purely getting married, yes.
The rest, no. I'd much rather spend my life travelling and enjoying life rather than strapped down by sprogs.

I just wouldn't be able to stand having my own kids and the everything else that comes with settling down. Living with a partner, living in suburbia, having to get a babysitter everytime I go out, having to make plans when school is out, having to put up with bad behaviour, the financial strain, etc.
Of course it takes two as well and i'm pretty much single pringle who is crap with women and a poor postgrad, but even if I fell in love with a girl I don't think I could settle down. There's just so much to do and so much to see and so much I want to achieve. When kids come into the mix and a wife/long term partner your life is no longer just yours?

Anyone else feel like Peter Pan atm?

I've already done it mate. Being married isn't so bad. The company is a definite plus!

I'm in my mid twenties, OP, so I know how you feel. I keep seeing my peers getting engaged, married and having kids but at the moment (I've never wanted kids) I'm too focused on my career and travelling and I'm simply too busy to settle down. I socialise a fair bit but I still don't even have time to hang out with my friends on a regular basis so I can only imagine the issues I would have if I was to find a girlfriend
