lol no anyone can take one, loads of people do regardless of gender

The two people I do know who took one were both male

I've never heard of that before.
I don't think there's a particular gender divide in gap year take ups that I know of; I know just as many males as females who took one.
And even if there was a gender gap somewhere, that shouldn't let you stop you from taking a gap year if you think you'd benefit from it

Sorry, only women are allowed to take a gap year. If men could do it too then that would fuel the patriarchy and we seriously cannot allow that to happen.

A gap year seems somewhat appealing to me, I'll be 18 soon and think it'll be quite fun to go and live and volunteer abroad such as on a farm. I've been looking online and there are thousands of places looking for volunteers.

Is it weird for a male to do this, most people who seem to go are females and do things such as teaching, etc? Some posts want females only.


There were even numbers of each sex at my school who went on gap years after A Levels :smile:
