I'm doing Biology, Chemistry, French and German...I decided to really go for it today and so I spent the morning doing French grammar exercises and then about an hour making notes from my Biology textbook and trying to get my head around things! That will be me done for a few days!!

Wow, Mandarin?! That's such a good idea

2 languages!! I could never manage that!!
And you've done way more than me already  that's amazing!

And yeah I've always liked Mandarin but they never offered it at school so I thought I may as well try it now

I'm probably going to start making flashcards again and just reading around my subjects a lot more

Might I suggest peeking into the realm of university material?

Haha I'm not sure if I'll carry them both through to A level but I love them equally so I don't know how I'll decide!
Thanks! Can't wait to hear what you've been up to!

Ah yes it will be a tricky decision. Maybe look at which will be more useful to you in a job or something and then carry the other one on in your spare time.

And thank you!! I'll try to update regularly

Extra Update 2

So this was what I managed to get up to yesterday

Looked into AS level physics (using old textbooks)
Self quizzed on 207 signs
Went through all Mandarin cards - going to look at making more of them

I really hope everyone is enjoying themselves and I'd love to hear what you've all been up to

University websites are littered with useful materials. Perhaps it would be useful for you to look into specific subjects and particular topics, ergo preparing for the latter. With nothing of A-Level left to do for myself, I have been spasmodically answering Oxford MAT questions and have recently started reading The Old Curiosity Shop for potential pursuits in English Language, and Literature and to epitomize the aforementioned advice. Good luck with your Mandarin as well!

Just out of interest, which university would you like to see yourself in and for which course?

I've always dreamt of Oxford doing Physics but I might be aiming out of my League. Astrophysics or Engineering are also possible choices but I'm quite open when it comes to location
Just to let everyone on here know - I've made a Summer Bucket List where I will be posting from now on, including any studying (as it is one of my points on the list). If you'd like to follow this then the link is here:

The content was ridiculously easy so it only took a matter of months to cover all 7 modules of maths and further maths. Other subjects, namely English Literature and Language, I was already precocious with, so merely exercising a few analytical and descriptive writing skills was adequate.
Does anyone want to have a go at an Oxford maths question I recently came across?

School bits:
Hi Everyone,

I'm in year 11 so I will be sitting my GCSEs on the 18th May (eek). I also had mocks on the 22nd Feb so keeping this thread made sure I kept up with my revision. At the moment my targets and grades are:

(WJEC) English Language: A*
(WJEC) English Literature: A*
(Edexcel) Maths: A*
(OCR Gateway B) Biology: A*
(OCR Gateway B) Chemistry: A*
(OCR Gateway B) Physics: A*
(AQA) German: A*
(OCR Modern) History: A*
(AQA) Geography: A*
(OCR National) ICT: A*

Some of you may look at this and wonder how I can improve, but I set really high standards and in some of my mocks I have been getting 84/85 and scores like that, so I am working towards getting as high a mark as possible, and not just securing the grade.

Hopefully, if I can get the grades, I want to go on to college and study Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Geology.

Personal bits:
If you want a bit of background I've always been quite good academically (though I genuinely hate to admit it) but I believe it is down to the fact that I have severe Atopic Eczema (that the specialist said was the worst in 30 years) and because of this, I have found studying to be a worthy distraction. I also can't see out of one eye which makes life interesting but I like it that way. If I can work hard enough, and get into University, I will be the first person in my family to do so, and considering my parents have barely any qualifications, this is definitely something I aspire to.

A few last words:
I am open to any advice or constructive criticism and I am happy to help anyone too.

If you want to find out more about me as a person I would be happy to post info and along the way, I will be detailing revision I have done, so if you would like to see pictures of it just let me know and I'll be happy to upload

Also, recently, people have asked if they can post their revision on here too so it can help motivate everyone and we can help each other along - feel free to join in

Mocks (22nd Feb)
Here's the posts I made about the mocks I have just taken

good luck!!!! :-)
