Circumcision

Hi, so I got told today by my doctor that I needed a circumcision because I have a tight foreskin...

This has really worried/depressed me as I'm a white male and no one in my family has had a circumcision and there are a lot of dangers/negatives that are shown online...

So this is kind of a question/plea for help, is circumcision really that bad? Or should I try and keep stretching my foreskin? I can slide the foreskin past the gland when flaccid but not when erect.

Thanks for any help/thoughts
You will be referred to someone else, and you can talk to them about your options.

It may not need to be a 'lose the whole foreskin' circumcision. The person I know who had one when 18 or so was delighted with the result because it meant he could be sexual much more easily with his girlfriend.

Sorry for that last message, wanted to see if it would keep me anonymous.

Problem is, I went to my original GP about it and he gave me cream, I got referred to the specialist who says I need one. I don't know I just feel a bit weird as it's not the norm for a white Christian male and none of my family/friends have it done.
My boyfriend is circumcised. He is a white young male. It's not an issue at all, I actually prefer it than ex boyfriends who had foreskin. So much better looking without it haha

He is Christian too, I forgot to add that in. If it matters

I wouldnt worry too much about it, circumcision isnt very uncommon I had a friend whos brother went through this issue and he's none the less off from it.
If it really wont come back though i would do this if i were you, from my understanding if you cant pull it back properly some issues relating to hygine and infection can come about.

Plenty of white Christian males in the US have been cut...

What you need to think is 'which would any potential partner prefer: a circumcised penis that works, or an uncircumcised one that has a problem?'

True, I guess I'm just quite scared I haven't had to have an operation or anything before and I always thought my foreskin was a normal part of me and I would never need a circumcision.

What I'm worried about now is, my glands is never really exposed and is very sensitive due to my tight foreskin, but now that it's going to be exposed 24/7, is it going to hurt when brushing clothes e.t.c?
From what I understand, you get used to the difference pretty quickly - around the same time it takes to heal from the op.

Firstly, don't get worried or depressed at the thought of having a circumcision. Although for a lad in his late 'teens or early twenties it may seem like major surgery, it's actually nothing to get unduly concerned about!

Secondly, when I played sport at the University of Bath the members of the different teams all showered communally after a match or game and I'd say that between 30 - 40% of my white, male colleagues were circumcised (in a range of different styles!) so the procedure really isn't that uncommon. Especially if one or other of your parents was a health care professional!

Thirdly, my best mate at University had to be circumcised because he had a very tight foreskin which was ruining his sex life, and he reckoned that it was the best thing that was ever done to him. Compared to having your wisdom teeth out he said the procedure was a doddle, it didn't need a general anaesthetic (although he asked for, and got, one!), the scarring soon faded and it was much easier to keep a condom on.

Fourthly, when a boy's penis is erect, it can actually be quite difficult for girls to tell whether the owner has been circumcised or not! Furthermore, many lads who've been cut during their 'teens view the thin white surgical scar around their shaft as a badge of honour. The scar tissue is sensitive enough, if stimulated manually or orally, to improve the quality of their lovemaking experience.

I hope that this helps. Don't worry yourself unduly over a trivial medical procedure. Get yourself cut and, like my best mate at Uni, you'll never look back!

I haven't been snipped myself, so can't speak from personal experience, but I guess that being newly-circumcised is a bit like having a dental brace fitted - for a few days it feels strange and odd to have chunks of metal in your mouth, but gradually you get more and more used to it and one day you just don't notice any more.
Ditto circumcision - for a few days you'll feel it when your glans (or one of the stitches!) catches on your underwear, but after a short time the healing process kicks in, the stitches fall out, and one morning you wake up and just don't notice that your dick has had a very short back 'n' sides and a good trim on the top!
After a couple of weeks your new-look willy (which most girls will find much more attractive than the uncut version) will be ready to use once more, and you'll be kicking yourself that you took so long to have this bit of very minor surgery.

If you do decide to go down the surgical route, it might be worth trying to de-sensitise the head of your penis for a few days or weeks before you have the operation, by retracting the foreskin when you get dressed in the morning, and trying to keep it rolled back during your daily activities, so that it rubs on your underpants and thereby makes the skin grow thicker and stronger.
Also, ask the Urologist who will be performing the operation about the different styles of circumcision which are available. It's a bit like having a haircut - there are different "grades" you can chose, everything between "High and tight" or "Low and loose" depending upon where the scar is placed.
Good luck with the procedure! Don't forget to post about your experiences on TSR so that other lads in a similar situation will know that there's absolutely nothing to worry about in having a circumcision.
Did you get it done? And if so did you get it really tight?
Don't do it. I wasn't given the choice and have never forgiven my parents. In later years (I'm an old man now) sensitivity virtually disappears and then impotence sets in. The
