How do I ask someone if they like me?

We have been talking all summer, towards the end of summer we started kissing and stuff. We never talk about if we like each other, we just kind of kiss and then talk about normal things.

I really like them, but I don't know if I should ask. We live a while away from each other so if we had a relationship it would be kind of difficult to see each other. But then again, I've never liked someone as much I like him.

I really need advice.
