I usually like Sam, but he's being daft about the unmitigated horror of the Trump Presidency.

I feel the same, often times I do agree with Sam, but he's being a tad hyperbolic with the Trump presidency.
He will get more done not because of the majority, but because it's him. Don't get me wrong, the majority is important, but Obama had a supermajority in the first two years of his first term and still didn't get as much done because he wanted to accommodate the Republicans, even when he landslided. Combine that with Republicans who where extremely obstructionist during Obama's entire time as President and you get a situation where it isn't Obama's fault. Trump didn't win the popular vote (still says landslided and has a mandate etc) and does not have a supermajority. That doesn't matter. It's about him and the Republican party generally not accommodating Democrats and then the Democrats actually going along with it.

And what he's proposing doesn't matter. Look at what he does rather than what he says. With his Cabinet picks and advisors you would be naive to think things won't get radical.

And if you think he's not going to go like Obama, you've got another thing coming. And anyway, Obama hasn't been able to do as much because of Republicans, not just him. Don't blame Obama for seeming to change, it's a lot to do the opposition he inherited

This will be an interesting 4 years for america

Shortly before the President Trump took office, Mexico has had its very first school shooting, in an American school no less. Hopefully, the Emmy nominee will stop American culture from spreading outside of the country.

If only the wall could stop American guns from flooding into Mexico and Americans from taking drugs.

Two years? The Republicans took control of the House in 2010, Obama had just under a year to pass what he could before the Republicans filibustered everything. In the time he had, he did a lot.

The USA is now run by a man who managed to bankrupt his casinos.

How the HELL can you bankrupt a casino?? I'm impressed. Watching the states crumble and burn will be interesting.

And we all know how that went...

Daily reminder that the Obama administration sent guns to Mexico with the conscious intention of them being used to commit murder by cartels.

I'd say that getting him out of office was a step in the right direction already.

What, in your mind, would such an objective description consist of?

This isn't a rhetorical question, I genuinely want to hear it.

I don't think there is such a thing as a totally objective description. Any more than there is totally objective history.

All journalists report through the perspective of their own political beliefs and values it seems to me.

The challenge we have now is that the entire mainstream journalistic profession report a world which is under post liberal assault, from the same, liberal perspective.

It isn't just that it lacks any objectivity at all, although of course it does, but that they just don't understand it. How can you effectively describe something when you don't have the first clue what is going on?

January 2009 to November 2010 is closer to 2 years than just under a year.

But what would some understanding look like, for instance? What would be some empirical facts about the Trump campaign and support that the media are missing?

I'm just trying to find a concrete reference point for discussion of this issue.

Trumped claimed his inauguration crowd stretched back to Washington monument. That is an easily falsifiable claim. One that has been proved to be false. Yet Trump's press spoke team keep claiming it is true.

Trump's IQ is high, ones of the highest in fact and that's why he won so bigly.

You do realise he's saying "big league" and not bigly. So many liberals on facebook were mocking him because of this but failed to comprehend an accent.

I actually didn't know this. It wasn't that serious given how much I've been speaking in favour of Trump even if I don't literally support every statement he's made.

Male violence is a core part of Spencers' ideology. So it seems only fitting to respond with some male leftist direct action to the face.

This is the guy who suggested we should consider the genocide of blacks. I'm sorry but you deal with that straight away. Waiting until it is too late and we have to do world war 2 again is not a valid option. You snuff it out as soon as possible, even if that means violence. That black woman stood behind him in that interview? He would eradicate her gene pool if he could. **** him and hope he is scared. Tolerance of genocidal racists if for useless liberals/conservatives you would let fascism get to the point where it is too late.

Also... punching Nazis works.

Don't the new Congress take office in January too? Then it would be two years.
