I don’t know the type of accommodation I will get yet so let’s say everything is in my room and personal? And I’m looking to keep them for years and probably use it when I leave uni hall after first year do you think it will be worth it in the long run? How much did you spend yourself
If you live in halls, I doubt whether you would be allowed to keep your iron and kettle in the room. Health and Safety requires electrical items to be PAT compliant as a statutory requirement.
Why do you need a 40" TV? Buy when you know your accommodation and what will fit.
Invest in some good headphones so you don't annoy others late at night.

Why not just one PC that can be used for gaming and work, and £1000 of beer money?
I don't think students know how to student anymore.
I rather take my notes on Mäç quick and reliable and I’m a computer science student need a fast pc not necessarily gaming one but with good specs to run codes and debug I can work part time for beer money 😉

Good idea I will take the kettle and iron off the list and get headsets instead, I feel like a bigger screen will help multitask better and wouldn’t have to buy a tv for the next 4 years at least

A 40" TV is not an essential item.
You want a MacBook Air? Are you really an IT student?! A gaming PC isn't required either.
Why do you think that you actually need this expensive stuff?

They are probably not essential but required for my course, again it will only make stuff easier for me if i have those things its a lot of money im trying to convience myself that i need them. i definetely need the macbook air to get used to it and the pc could help me run other software that wont work on the mac cause they are running two different OS
Really? Which course? Doesn't the university supply the required equipment?
they obviously will but will be in the library of the university, i could drop the gaming pc but will still need a pc with windows 10 because im sure at some point i might need to do some work on a windows pc and just use the mac for lecturers cause it will boot up quickly and i can rely on it to work at anytime
i have cut the cost down to £2,000 still too much but that will be it for 4 years and im only spending 4k on accomodation so in all i will be looking at 7-8k in the first year and i will do my best to get a job in the first few weeks
I already had a MacBook and don't do my ironing, but I bought a kettle, a moka, a teapot, a printer, a JBL for music, sheets for the bed, a vacuum cleaner and products for the cleaners, a wine fridge, power extensions, an ice bucket for champagne, flute glasses and cups, a wine stopper, a new electric shaver and lots of clothes and books (and wine). Not sure about how much I spent.

My son is reading Mathematics and Computer Science at Imperial. He has a $600 laptop (good spec for the price, which he setup to dual boot Windows and Linux) and a couple of RaspberryPis. You really don't need more.

A gaming PC and MacBook Air are not going to be long-term purchases. IT equipment dates quickly. Buy a reasonable laptop and call it a day. It'll cost a fraction of a high-end setup.
