Hi I really want to become a social worker what a levels did you take? Thanks
It’s all really based on experience I think. I did biology chemistry and maths but then went on to work in a specialist school for two years and have had all my offers

Has anybody been asked to submit an academic essay for BA Social Work for Suffolk? I’m not sure whether this is because I’m using my grade from my first year of another university degree because I didn’t obtain the a levels for social work.
Hi, do you mind if I ask why it’s so bad? I’m thinking of transferring there this year to complete my degree? Thanks
For so many reasons it is unbelieveable. Heres just a few: -We often don't know which room or tutor we will have for lectures until that morning and then it get changed. -Lectures cant be bothered to teach and tell us to go home half way through the day meaning we miss out on significant amount of teaching. -There have been at least 10 occassions when we have travelled into university and they have then cancelled lecutres because they did not arrange a lecturer - some student had unnecessarily paid for childcare and were not reinbursed. -When applying for the course we were told that we would have skills days including attending court for court skills which never happened. -We rarely get the grades for our assignments back on time and the feedback is minimal so we don't actually know how to improve. -We have had a lecturer (who is also the social work programme director) threaten us - she said that due to consistent absenses of a few students she was going to stop arranging external practitioners coming in to lecture - something we pay for as part of our student fees. - We had another lecture threatened that if we did not attend all his lectures he was going to fail our assignment. -The placements they have arranged as part of my education are extremely poor - have not enabled me to learn the skills or knowledge that I should know upon qualifying. - It is extremely difficult to get in touch with lectures i.e. am currently doing my disseration and send off draft and it took them three months to provide feedback. Some student still have not recieved feedback and dissertation is due next week! - For the dissertation our personal tutors are responsible for providing guidance and feedback even if they are not familuar with the topic - we should have someone that specialises or is at least familar. - They do not respond to complaints at all - there was an incident where a number of social work students were laughing about a woman being beat up by her partner which obviously upset alot of other students and raised concern however, when I complainted to the programme lead they did not respond. They allow dangerous students to graduate - these students will soon be responsible for managing a caseload of vulnerable individuals.
I hope this helps, if you want to ask any questions feel free, always happy to help/advise. I wish someone has for me, I definately would not have gone to CCCU!
