I get what you're saying, but it's about the lesser of a bunch of evils right now. I really dont know what we should do as a country. Its like walking into a cafeteria and seeing 6 absolutely disgusting choices on the menu and your life depends on you choosing the one that's hopefully the least disgusting.

Well, I agree it's the shiniest of turds at the moment, nobody is particularly good but I'd argue that BoJo is the best of a bad bunch.

Worst case scenario for BoJo is that his plans for the NHS etc. aren't as good as they are being made out to be, we get a sub-standard brexit, etc..
Worst case for Corbyn on the other hand is complete economic disaster which is looking pretty likely if he actually goes through with these ridiculous nationalisations. Best case scenario is that he does nothing in his manifesto and Labour voters are left very disillusioned.
And no other parties are really worth talking about because we already know it's between Corbyn and BoJo. And from the looks of things, BoJo will probably get a majority.

As for BoJo's private ventures etc., I'd argue that as long as he's doing what he says he will and the people have voted for him, who cares what his motives are? People are already onto him anyway so any corruption or dodgy behaviour would be picked up IMMEDIATELY and we'd have a new PM in no time.
Just a question for everyone, how important do you think Brexit really is in terms of this election?

It is entirely likely. I mean, the Tories actually went up in the polls after the QT Leaders programme. How is that possible? Corbyn was measured, reasonable and cogent while Johnson floundered and blustered and lied. And yet, he said "Get Brexit Done" several times, so all the dog-whistle xenophobes and hard-of-thinking pricked up their ears and had a little sex wee in their pants.

Very. Although it's not the only focus, which is where BoJo is falling off a bit. His main selling point is getting Brexit done and not much else. In the debates so far, he usually links his point back to brexit instead of addressing the question. Having said that, I'd still argue that he's better than Corbyn or anyone else.

Yes. Yes it is. What other explanation can there be?

Am I the only one who actually thought Corbyn completely flunked the ITV debate and Boris actually said some rational stuff?

Corbyn bumbling on about irrelevancies, blaming “austerity for the last 9 years” as THE cause for everything under the sun, and then just not admitting his stance on Brexit or Scotland. Corbyn obviously doesn’t want to be PM - it was clear of this in the debate, but his opposition, big Bojo, is also a bumbling baffoon.

Boris wasn’t good either, and the way he kept referring to Brexit instead of answering the actual question at hand (something that all politicians are inept at) became very boring, but he’s sort of right... The economy is becoming stagnant. This is not because of Brexit itself, it’s because of the uncertainity surrounding the country as a whole.

The catchphrase ‘Get Brexit Done’ does actually have a lot more sense to it than meets the eye. Just doesn’t help when the one advertising it is as incompetent as the lot of them.

Johnson, Corbyn, Sturgeon, Swinson etc... - is this the worst bunch we have seen?

Agreed 100%

Oh non, absolutely I mean if you dont agree with Corbyns (labours) polices and prefer other more moderate policies, including leaving the European union. You must be stupid and xenophobic!

It obvious and clear as day bow you point it out, it's not like the majority of immigration comes from outside the EU or the majority of leave voters have higher life experiences. Yes they are naive, prejudice fools because they disagree with you :ciao:

Well the Lib Dems and DUP wouldn’t touch them again with a barge pole after the two recent coalitions. I personally believe the Tories will win outright, by a good 10/20 votes, as the opinion polls are always more ‘Labour-biased’ (when I say biased, I mean naturally, not fixed).

But the only ‘rational’ thing the Tories could hope for is they don’t win an outright majority is to just hope and pray that the Brexit Party have a couple of seats that may bridge the gap to get to 326 seats.

Scrap the lot of them.

What the? Are you another version of me from a parallel universe?

PRSOM

He is exactly the type of person you'd expect to support Corbyn; the lecturing, 'if you disagree with me you're obviously an idiot/x label' type. Exactly the kind of person Corbyn and his supporters are. If you look at other political threads, he just insults people and their religions. No real arguments.

Wonder what is going to happen when the electorate discovers that:

a. to get Brexit done in 12 months actually means virtually no trade deal (bare bones at best) and probably a recession.
b. to get a comprehensive trade deal will take far longer than 12 months.

The trouble about peddling a lie is that time tends to unravel the lie and the liar and his/her party eventually suffers the consequences, especially as Labour will not have JC at the helm by then.

2019 looks pretty done and dusted, faint hope of no majority for the Conservatives is all that remains for Labour, 2024 on the other hand is looking very interesting.

I know all about him mate, he loves to insult and ridicule. Apparently he tells me it's only me who he does, delusion is a marvellous thing

Only thing I'd say is I'm pretty close to a Corbyn supporter myself, it's just his horrendous and dishonest brexit policy that's keeping me away. I'd say those traits unflavoursome more neoliberal than socialist.

I think I might be on the list too Burton but alas, I don't get to see his drivel any longer unless one of you reply to it, poor me 😭😭😭
