The idea of Brexit is something that was always around for some hardline Tories. This idea together with lies, deception of the worst kind, populism, and nationalistic propaganda, was promoted in such a way that also captured a large number of very unhappy labour supporters. All voted against the National Interest and they will pay a very heavy price for years to come.

The rhetoric was that they need us more than we do, let's take back control, let's escape from the oppression of the EU, etc. They also suggested that the EU will break up... I think the opposite is about to happen given the serious implications Brexit will have for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

This is not really the place to be debating Brexit, it having being done to death. Suffice it to say i have never, and will never, agree with it but i do disagree that it was solely the tories fault (if mostly) there were plenty of labour politcians (and voters) who went in for it. That odious woman Hoey being an key example.

I didn't make any comments in relation to the educational crisis. Altough this is an issue where the Government didn't act in my opinion unreasonably..

What I mean is that if you let the School grade its students then you could see inflated marks.

Exams and continuous assessments are the best ways to assess a student. But it couldn't happen in May-June. They could have postponed the exans for August. I can't see any problem with that.

Are you serious. Yes they cancelled the exams and yes they knew grades would be inflated. But went with the wrong solution. We have gone from a situation where deserving students lost out to a situation where undeserving students are getting a free ride.

It could all have been avoided but required himan, not algorithmic intervention. All entirely forseeable IMO.

You say everyone is ignorant going into an election. I don't think this is true. But a large number of the electorate is indeed ignorant, naive or stupid. Especially if they working or even middle class and vote for Boris Johnson and his circus...

Boris set out his stawl and people voted for it. To give him his due he had started to go about delivering that before the crisis has hit.

What this year has shown is that Boris is hopeless in a crisis and is no strategist. But you don't need those skills to be a good leader in quieter times.

You seem to be conibg from a position of "I don't like Boris therefore everyone who supports him must be a moron." That's a bit weak to be honest.
Labour after my vote. Ah so close yet so far. One more push and I would have voted for them.
Free Broadband was great but I was holding out for the free BJs in the manifesto.

Contributions please... Especially if you hate the Tories.

But we also want to hear from Tory voters..

You hate the Tories because Labour is completely sh*t and you can't handle it.

From the cases I have come across there seems to be quite reasonable marks. However and given the many complaints it seems some people didn't get that they deserve and some got more than what they actually deserved.

That's what happens when there are no exams. It was inevitable that be honest..

All this anomaly when combined with the Tories in power compounds all sorts of problems. But I don't think any other Government would have done anything different.

This Government was always weak and the cabinet members are just a joke.
They will eventually compound every problem. But thanks to the stupidity of the electorate...

Dislike the Tories since I remember myself dealing with politics. Nothing to do with labour by the way.

The Tories are synonymous to propaganda, deception, populism, ultra right wing nationalism, stupidity and idiocy, and a provocatively stupid electorate that votes for them without being wealthy or rich, i.e voting against their interests..

There are two groups of people who vote for the Tories:

1st Group: The Wealthy and the Rich

2nd Group: The Naive and the Stupid...

You really have to be very Naive or very stupid, or both, to vote for the Tories if you don't belong to the 1st Group!!!

That's a tautology. Not to mention that many working class Tories work hard and would rather have their money in their pocket rather than in the hands of some quango or dole scrounger.
The British Electorate is not very famous for its intelligence and intellectual abilities.

Given that you're part of it I'm inclined to agree with you.
So we had the Tories for the last 10 years together with a Brexit Vote, which was very popular among right wing voters..

Lexiteers do exist and my friend @Burton Bridge is one of them.
I propose a system where not everyone will be given the vote but has to qualify his/her vote with an IQ Test.

You do know IQ tests are generally considered pseudoscientific and are pretty racist in their methodology?
Those who score over 120 will be eligible to vote for all elections.

Ah, eugenics. That worked so well in Nazi Germany.
The 120 barrier makes sure that the vast majority of the the Tory Voters are eliminated instantly and they don't bother society and us anymore. This barrier will also exclude labour voters and voters of other parties, but here the benefits are enormous and far outweigh the risks if you think that the vast majority of Tory voters will be unable to vote...

So you admit your ideal political system is one which disenfranchises half the country through a test that's fraught with racism?

Yeah, why don't you **** off back to your KKK meeting and go stroke the other inbred racists' tiny *****.
Instead what most have to do on the day of elections is what they do in any regular day of the week or in the weekend. Stay in the local pub, read your SUN or the Daily Mail, and enjoy a nice and refreshing pint of lager...

Your classism is showing.
You don't have the right to vote as you didn't pass the IQ Test.

If you can be taxed by the government when you work, you should be allowed a say in what the government does with your money. In the words of Margaret Thatcher, there's no such thing as government money, only taxpayers' money.
But don't worry, be happy, and who cares!!! As long as you have the SUN and the Mail to read, and your nice pint of beer, everything should be fine...

You do know not everyone who reads the Mail or the Sun, or who drinks beer instead of a nice glass of 1984 Château Lafite, is thick?

I am not a Corbynite at all...

No, you're a Nazi. You constantly criticise Israel, support racist policies and advocate for socialism.
I am just anti-tory due to the stupidity and idiocy that is usually associated with this particular party, its policies, and those who vote for them...

Remind me what party caused the Winter of Discontent? (clue - it wasn't the Tories)
Everyone who is not a Tory Voters in this country is usually an Anti-Tory.

My nan doesn't usually vote Conservatives and she's not anti-Tory like you are. It's almost as if lumping all the UK into two categories is a bad idea.
I am interested in Tories not winning any elections. They usually bring disasterous policies, and... Brexit..

Name me one country where socialism works or has worked. I can name you plenty where it hasn't.

The issue with the Tories is that they almost never protect the rights and the interests of the working class or even the middle class.

What working class rights have the Tories not protected?
The welfare system is for those who need it and not for fun and excitement.

Tell that to the chavs in Hull who buy six packs of Stella with their dole money and go to the foodbank when their kids starve.
All Governments have to spend but it's better if you also spend money to make the lives of the poorest a little easier or give opportunities to those who have very little in life.

You know how we could give opportunities to the poor? By bringing back grammar schools. You know what party wants to do that? The Tories.
Certainly the Tories don't have this high in their agenda..

True. But there is more over inflation as teachers are in general over optimistic. In computing that over optimism was a full 2 grades higher wherevas English lit was about right based on previous years.

There is no need to delete lines from what you are writing.

I don't think I am spreading elitism as you say although I am indeed an atheist as simply there is no evidence for the existence of God.

I think just like in the case of religion where you accept matters in the absence of evidence you do the same around here by forming the wrong ideas based on erroneous interpretations and misunderstandings of yours.

Nobody has spoken about Socialism or the Soviet Union. There are your own misunderstandings.

You seem to be very aggitated and angry as many of us don't share the same political views as you do. Don't forget that this is a student forum and the Tories are not very popular around here...

Yes, I see.

I was discussing this particular aspect of the grading of the students with a friend of mine who is a secondary school teacher. It is obvious that if you let teachers grade the students this will lead inevitably to inflation in most subjects, and in the absence of examinations.

My opinion is that they should have proceeded with exams in August instead of May and June. At least this way the results wouldn't be controversial.

Don't forget that ideologically compatible with Nazism are some of the ultra right wing elements in the Tory Party and those outside who belong to the far right.

By the way, I do criticise Judaism and all Abrahamic Religions. As they make the most luficrous claims.

That odious woman Hoey being an key example.

I am not debating Brexit here but I cannot avoid mentioning it.

It was primarily a Tory Idea. If Labour was in Governnent or a coalition between Labour and the Lib Dems, the Referendum would have never happened.

Having said that, Corbyn as a leader is very responsible for the way he handled the matter. When I made some calculations back in 2016 it seemed that 35% of the labour voters voted for Brexit. Shocking!!!

But Corbyn said that 40% of the labour voters voted for Brexit... Even more shocking!!!

Populism, deception, lies, and propaganda, stole the vote from millions of labour voters and voters in general.

This wouldn't have worked. It would have benefited those afluent and private schools whose pupils have access to the net.

We lost touch with most of our students and engagement went right down despite weekly telephone calls.

Also, teachers are on holiday in August and rightly so. I'm on holiday right now.

It was certainly a tory event, in that it was called to try and neuter the skeptics within their own party. again though, that doesnt make it a tory idea - as we saw (and you noted) there were plenty of labour voters who went for it. Ironically enough it was probably more labour voters who went for the idea than tory ones working class northerners vs. middle class southerners.

Indeed. Probably one of the key reasons he couldnt get near power (aside from his indulging so many unbritish ideas) was his flipflopping on the matter.

Isnt that rather insulting to all the former labour voters? To say that millions of them are but too stupid//gullible to not vote tory..?
