degree classification help

Hello guys, so I was checking at the overall degree classifications at Coventry University and it says that individuals can only get passes, merits and distinctions. I thought the grades at university were like 1, 2:1, 2:2 ect?

Im in my first year studying international business at coventry.

I can't see anything g about that on the link you provided but i'd give them ring because those sound like BTEC grades. It could just be the way they grade but then passes, merits and distinctions but then there are usually 4 grades at uni 3rd 2:1 2:2 1st usually graded like:
3rd 40%
2:2 50%
2:1 60%
1st 70%
I'd call and ask for clarification if I were you.
You are probably looking at either CertHE/DipHE grading or postgraduate course grading.

Undergraduate honours degrees are classified 2:1, 1st, etc. Other qualifications are normally pass/merit/distinction (sometimes merit doesn't exist).

As above. Have a look at the page below, particularly section 6.11.

Curious, same for me.

Try googling "coventry university degree classification". That should get you to the right place.

The degree classifications are as follows: 1st, 2:1, 2:2 3rd, which someone mentioned above.

The university has two methods of calculating the overall degree classification and will likely give you the highest score you get from the two methods used. You can find the academic regulations here, and go to the contents and go to the page where it discusses how the university calculates the overall degree classification. Alternatively, a similar post on this was done previously which you can read.

Hopefully, this helps!
