Why do women want the guy to be dominant in pretty much every way?

If you look at general female preferences and choices when it comes to men they rarely differ from these main ''guidelines'' :

- most want the guy to be taller
- most want the guy to ask them out, plan dates, call back, propose, basically to take charge and be more confident than them
- most want a guy who is at least as educated and/or intelligent as them
- most want the man to be dominant in bed
- most want a guy who isn't too emotional and is in control when **** hits the fan
- most women love older men
- most women love dating and marrying men who earn more and are higher in the career ladder

We live in a world where young women make more more than young men, they do better in school, they earn the majority of college degrees with the gap getting higher every year, they wear whatever they want and have as many sexual partners as they like. So why do women still behave like they did hundreds of years ago when their rights and opportunities were not much better than that of a battery chicken? Why this great need for male dominance and leadership?

Your answer is within your question; though it's 1000's not 100's of years of conditioning and being treated as children, second class citizens, possessions etc (depending on the society in question) that has ingrained in us submissive behaviours sadly.

Being taller- more physically powerful and you have a larger presence

Being intelligent- more likely to earn money and be dominant socially and professionally

Not being too emotional- keeps a calm head and is more rational- perhaps even a bit manipulative, so definitely dominant

Being older- having more experience and leads the way- dominant.

I would have thought this to be obvious to even any semi-functioning 14 year old

If you were taller, more intelligent, less emotional and older than one of your friends, would you consider yourself dominant to them or does this just apply to relationships?

I get where both sides are coming from here but those few factors don't necessarily imply dominance.

So nothing to do with sexual selection and the female being infinitely more picky in just about every species there is while the males have to fight, kill, croak, puff, sing, dance, build nests, puke in female's mouth etc? Have you ever watched a nature documentary and especially one about social mammals like humans are ? And did you read the achievements of today's western women I mentioned? Here's some more : a woman is the de facto leader of the EU, another one is the president of the largest and richest latin american country, another one is in charge of the FED, another one is the IMF chief... all this while hilldog is odds on to be the next US pres in a few months. Yet the vast majority of women still behave like 10000 or 100 years ago... nothing to do with biology, right?

I agree with some of your points but;

Er, picky females? You've over generalised here quite severely. Often we have the situation, and this exists within human society even to this day, whereby you have one male who will impregnate a group of females. He may be dominant by definition and by his traits, but the females don't get a say in mating with him generally. The males fight it out, and therefore ultimately as a group decide who get the females. This can be seen today amongst humans where it is the men who In many societies organise amongst themselves who will have which females by way of agreed marriage, religious doctrine etc.

Yes, how vey nice that it can be observed that with some species the female gets to pick the best of the bunch. Now, this is where dominance of the male being attractive comes in. If you are pregnant, with children, and have a body that is designed to bare children and less designed to take/pull punches, then you will choose someone who can support/protect you when needed. You are right in this sense, why you haven't argued this is strange because it's a strong and obvious point. In harem situations however this is not the case.

Please don't use phrases like infinitely more picky, it doesn't have a place in discussion of science, here it doesn't make actual sense. Say what you mean or what is the actual case.

Yes thanks, I've been the recipient of decisions and speeches by these powerful women several minutes before you and the vast majority via my Bloomberg platform, I see their achievements in the movement of the markets, I see their impact in ways that you probably have very limited access to. And I also watch nature documentaries thanks.

So yes, there are evolutionary and also historical factors at play. You have greatly minimised the latter.
idk it's just hot

Lol mate fact you are complaining about this suggests beta-ness.

if your woman expects you to e dominant, then dominate the hell out of her . or would you rather she was the one wearing the trousers?

ps. though never make yourself vulnerable to her in any way, because as many men have discovered in the past most women will say they love you, but when times get hard or when things get tough they will not hesitate to desert / kick you when you're down (especially western women) .

its like generalising saying:

men want super models

men want younger women

men want shorter girls than them

men want curvy women

its just generalisations and not always the case but dominant men are :u:
Dominant men are what, don't leave us hanging :woo:

Are you saying we should want a whiny, lazy, no goals ,short ,bum? Just because girls have more rights doesn't mean guys could slack off now.

I wouldn't say being short is slacking off XD, but I see your point.

Unfortunately for you there's nothing short about me.

You answered your rhetorical question containing the attributes [whiny, lazy, no goals ,short ,bum] by saying guys shouldn't slack off which is where I made the connection.

Hi OP, I'm going to attempt to put an answer into words, but if it comes out a little confusing the typical "I know what I mean" is all I can really say.

- most want the guy to be taller - generally a tall man is more attractive, someone to physically "look up to". Not to mention, there's a number of men out there who wouldn't date a girl taller than them because they would feel emasculated, so this goes both ways.
- most want the guy to ask them out, plan dates, call back, propose, basically to take charge and be more confident than them - Confidence is sexy. Having a guy know what they want and not be afraid to get it, is sexy. I think also naturally, women are more submissive?
- most want a guy who is at least as educated and/or intelligent as them - to have decent conversations or things in common with each other.
- most want the man to be dominant in bed - again, in general, women are more submissive. Also women are lazy and less sexually active in the bedroom, so I guess we need men to initiate.
- most want a guy who isn't too emotional and is in control when **** hits the fan - In many situations sometimes, you need the logic, as opposed to the emotion.
- most women love older men - maturity levels perhaps? Also, in general, men tend to want to "settle down" at a later stage (maybe early thirtys) than women (late twentys). So I guess, maybe they are both at the same phase in their life.
- most women love dating and marrying men who earn more and are higher in the career ladder - This can go both ways. A number of men would feel emasculated if a woman earned more than them. it takes away the "provider" aspect of being a man.

I think overall what women look for comes hand in hand with what men also look for. Men like being leaders, they like calling the shots, they like being dominant financially & physically. In other words, they like "being a man". There's a certain respect as well for being alpha. So in doing that, regardless of how many opportunities there are for women, and how much women's roles have progressed, the primitive instinct seems to always win.

I guess women tend to get attracted to older men because they (we) mature, emotionally and psychologically, faster than men. So we would prefer someone who could easily keep up with it, and it would usually be an older man.

Most (western)women will say they love you but then desert you etc when you're down?

Where did you get that idea from ?

If you never make yourself 'vulnerable' to a woman in a serious relationship I'd have thought that would make her want to leave you in itself eventually.

Being vulnerable might not be very attractive in the beginning but being invulnerable sure as hell won't make you attractive to most women worth 'having' in the end.

Jesus, even James Bond is vulnerable in the best movies/books eg OHMSS and Casino Royale.

Not that I get my 'knowledge'of these matters from Bond movies:redface:

No,everything I know about relationships I got from Dr Who.

Most girls will read the OP and will instantly think ''sexist'', ''generalizations'' or ''socialization'' (basically something something patriarchy), it's unreal how few western women acknowledge innate differences between men and women. Or is it because the type of girl who replies to this type of thread has already been processed through the marxist/feminist/leftist academia machine?

The few girls who do keep it real are usually STEM students and/or non-white, non-middle class.

That is extremely unfair, i completely acknowledge the differences between men and women, yet i would call myself a feminist and am white, middle/upper class and not a STEM student, don't make such generalisations it makes you look like a jerk.
