I'm having a bit of a dilemma in terms of references for jobs. I've got my cv ready etc, and am ready to apply for jobs - almost! My problem is that I'm short on references. I'm fine to use a university tutor as one of them - but that's about it. I don't have any work experience (except for a paper round, and two stints in a charity shop - but these were a good few years ago and from what I can tell, the bosses - as with most of the other staff - no longer work there).
So I need some advice really, as I'm guessing I'd need at least two references. Is it acceptable to use two university tutors? I don't have contact details for my college tutors, but I could try to track them down if that would help (though it was over three years since any of them taught me). Also, in terms of a personal or character reference, again I don't really have much to go on - save for family friends, but none of them have known me in any kind of professional capacity.
What do you guys think would be my best bet?
