English A Lang and Lit query - Prescribed List of Authors

My IB session will be starting in August and I have holidays for the next few days. I have taken english lang and lit at HL. I was wondering if the prescribed list of authors given by IB is the same for everyone or it varies from school to school? I found a list on the internet, so I thought I could use this time to shortlist some novels which I would like to read, from that list.
Please help and also suggest some novels which are good and can be considered..
