Should I get circumcised ?

I am in my early twenties and have now seriously considered getting my penis circumcised.
I feel it would be more hygienic to do so and it would benefit a future girlfriend as well.

I need to know though if there are any risks and if so then what ?? I am also unsure of how to tend to my penis the following days/weeks afterwards

Do you think I should get it done? My penis is NOT currently causing me any issues other than I would like to be more hygienic down there, especially after masturbating
There's a simple solution, and it's called 'washing'.

You'll lose an awful lot of sensitive skin. With a washable(!) felt tip, draw a light line around your foreskin when your penis is flaccid. Then get an erection, and pull the foreskin back. Look at where the line is...

If you do decide to have it done, there are risks. The flawed studies on HIV and circumcision that people go on about involved the best medical care available, and they had about a 1.5% complication rate up to and including loss of penis.
just do it , you will feel much cleaner

but I recommend having a holiday after the surgery
From NHS choices, the risks include:

a decrease in sensation in the penis, particularly during sex

damage to the tube that carries urine inside the penis (urethra), causing it to narrow and making it hard to pass urine

removal of too much of the foreskin

accidental amputation of the head of the penis, which is very rare

a blood infection or blood poisoning (septicaemia)

Seriously, keeping your penis clean isn't really any more difficult than keeping your armpits clean... and I doubt you're considering amputation. Why put yourself through surgery unnecessarily. Also how would it benefit a future girlfriend? With a foreskin you have more there to stimulate. Some sensitive girls can feel the movement of the foreskin and find it pleasurable.

Obviously, as an adult, its your choice, but its essentially cosmetic surgery. Do your research before making a decision.

It isn't proven it's more hygienic. Do your research.

Plus you'd have to pay for it. Routine circumcision isn't generally funded.

You must be crazy mate. DON'T DO IT..
If you want to be circumcised then I think you should go for it. I hated the feeling of the foreskin and how it never felt clean, even after showering. I ended up being circumcised for the same reasons you're considering and in my experience it's definitely cleaner, looks better, and the girls I've been with have liked it, particularly during sex where it feels much closer without the extra skin. I love it and would never want go back.

Do your research first as to what you want, you can't go back. My circumcision is moderately high and tight, keeping most of the sensitive inner foreskin. Some people prefer the scar closer to the head so its less visible but then you lose more inner foreskin. I also kept the frenulum. Note you do lose the sensitive nerves around the tip of the foreskin, if you get a lot of pleasure from these then think carefully about it. You do get much more head stimulation to compensate the lack of foreskin, especially around the rim; the tightness in the shaft is also very enjoyable.

I didn't find the operation particularly painful (others may disagree), more just feelings of being able to tell something's going on down there. There was a fair bit of bleeding afterwards. You need to be prepared to rest afterwards as you will be very bruised and swollen, don't make any big plans. It may take a while to heal fully (mine was a couple months) but in the bigger scheme of things it seems a small inconvenience for the lifetime of benefits you'll get if you really want it done and is soon forgotten once healed and back to normal. Yes, it is essentially cosmetic surgery which you must pay for but if you want it done and have researched it first, then you probably won't be satisfied until it's done. As with piercings/tattoos, this is something only you can decide whether you really want. Good luck.
Curious as to how you think it will benefit future girlfriends?
Oh, depending on how you masturbate, you may need to use a whole new method.
Go for it! The hygiene, smell, taste and looks are all massively improved. Most girls who've tried both that I know much prefer it without the hood.
You'll have to change your username afterwards to bald eagle
Don't do it! My mate is he says he's lost some sensitivity so sex isn't as enjoyable and he says masturbation isn't as nice either. You don't need to be circumcised to be clean just pull it back!
You've been watching too much porn my friend.
Whenever anyone asks this question, there are always dire threats about what a disaster it will be if you do it. There are plenty of anecdotal reports of people who were really sorry they had it done. But we all know just how reliable anecdotal evidence is. Somewhere between 37% and 39% of males worldwide are circumcised. If the trolls were even remotely accurate, the problems for such a huge percentage of men on the planet would be well-known and definitively reported. Many thousands have had it done in adulthood, Of course there are risks, but the medical evidence of these risks has been exaggerated in this thread. All I can say is, do your own research--don't let trolls do it for you, for heaven's sake! Here are a few good places to start: (1) Even across cultures, "In the overwhelming majority of studies, women expressed a preference for the circumcised penis," ("Sex and Male Circumcision: Women's Preferences Across Different Cultures and Countries: A Systematic Review," Sexual Medicine 2019 Jun;7(2):145-161. doi: 10.1016/j.esxm.2019.03.003. Epub 2019 Apr 25. (2) "The consensus of the highest quality literature is that MC [Male Circumcision] has minimal or no adverse effect, and in some studies, it has benefits on sexual functions, sensation, satisfaction, and pleasure for males circumcised neonatally or in adulthood" (“The Contrasting Evidence Concerning the Effect of Male Circumcision on Sexual Function, Sensation, and Pleasure: A Systematic Review” (Sexual Medicine 8, 577-598, 2020). (3) Circumcised men engage in more frequent sex acts and more different kinds of sex acts than their uncircumcised peers: "NHSLS data indicate that circumcised men engage in a somewhat more elaborated set of sexual practices than do men who are not circumcised. For each of the practices examined, lifetime experience of various forms of oral and anal sex and masturbation frequency in the past year, circumcised men engaged in these behaviors at greater rates. The difference between circumcised men was greatest for masturbation - ironically, a practice that circumcision was once thought to limit. A total of 47% of circumcised men reported masturbating at least once a month vs 34% for their uncircumcised peers" ("Circumcision in the United States: Prevalence, Prophylactic Effects, and Sexual Practice" (Journal of the American Medical Association, Volume 277, Number 13: Pages 1052-1057, April 2, 1997).

Now really, if circumcision was such a disaster and such a terrible thing to have done to a man, why would any of these things be true? As the saying has been lately about Covid, "Follow the science" (and not the trolls!).
