Ok perhaps, i'll discuss again in class, but please do admit one thing: since we are having this discussion, it's obvious kirk did a bad job...just admit:smile: Nothing is clear...first case I is pointing ------> but look where I is printed in the second case... do you agree it makes confusion, since it seems it's pointing away?


That's true. My physics class (3 of us lol) and teacher have decided that we do not like his book.

In the motor effect diagram it is using the direction of the real current...

In the Fleming's left hand rule one it is using conventional current direction because when fleming created his rule it was before they had discovered that it was electrons flowing from south to north (as you can see on the diagram it clearly flows from north to south (i.e conventional current)).
