Money advice previous course not completed will i get finance for new course ?

Hi i just needed some advice about finance , i previously started a degree in psychology but got pregnant and left 6 months after , i've applied to do a foundation degree in therapeutic counselling will i still get finance ? I havnt paid off any of my tuition fee loan / maintence loan from before as i havn't earned any money , i've just been bringing up kids since i left in 2008

Hi

If you have only had 1 year of funding, you will be eligible to get funding for your foundation degree. Please apply when the applications are released which is expected to be Feb/ March.

Hi just wondering if one has had 5 years of maintenance loan but not fees will SLC pay fees for new course(Hons degree from a college)Previous one was not completed and fees was paid for by the DOH. Thanks

Hi Indiy.

Your previous course will still count as previous study regardless of the level of funding you got for it.

With this being 5 years of previos study it's unlikely you would get full funding for all years of the course.
