Why do atheists not believe in God?

I think the bible can’t be truly trusted like how do we know everything in the bible is true, even in todays society people perceive things in a certain way based on other people’s influence. We can’t truly know if everything in the bible actually happened. I wouldn’t completely rule out God but I generally think people were probably just high tbh from all the meds and herbs. Amen sister.
We believe there is no purpose. Its depressing and sad but we just don't see any reason to believe in God personally. Yes that means we think we have no reason to be here but personally with the state the world is in now I can't see how if God ever existed he would let that happen to humanity
