Can your uni see your student finance application?

So how does the process work?

You get accepted to a university and then you make a student finance application.

Do the intimate details of your university UCAS application get shared with student finance, or do the intimate details of your student finance application get shared with your choice of university?

Nope. You apply to uni when applications open. You apply for SF when applications for that open, putting down your preferred uni. When you have your confirmed uni place, you go into your SF application and amend the uni details if you end up going somewhere else, or doing a different course.

If you delay applying to SF until you have a place at uni, then your SF won't ge sorted out in time for the start of your course.

Not sure what you mean by intimate. You can tick a box on your SF application which permits them to share your financial information with the uni you end up at. This means that you're automatically assessed by the uni for any extra funding they offer, such as a bursary for those from low income households. If you don't tick that box, then you have to apply to the uni for yourself.

You need to tell SF which uni/course you'll be doing, how much the tuition fees are. SF aren't interested in knowing more about your UCAS application than that.
