Have you had your open day yet? if so what questions were asked and what was it like?

Yeah I have, it was super relaxed and I guess it depends on your interviewer but it's just mainly talking about why you want to do the course and what your hobbies are and stuff

Got AA in AS and am predicted AAA
Haven't even seen the uni so I have no opinions I only thought the course looks good, but someone told me the accomodation was small and not that great.... I'm going to a subject open day so i'll see
Also got offers from Warwick, UCL, Nottingham and waiting for Leeds

The accommodation varies but in general it's about the same as other unis, just with some outliers e.g. the rooms in Stephenson A-G, Carrysbrook, and Crewe are massive, while Stephenson South Wing is pretty cramped.. The modern accommodation i.e. the rest of Endcliffe, Ranmoor, and City are normal sized for student rooms though, at a London uni like UCL you would get far worse.

As for the Biomed degree at Sheffield, hardly anyone does the full MSci, most just do the BSc and then either move on or do a separate, more specialised MSc. Also be prepared for a seriously hard course as Biomed is one of Sheffield's flagship courses.

Have you got any more information about living there, the city, union, anything like that?

Living there is pretty great, everything is within walking distance and there's plenty of amenities seeing as it's a larger city by UK standards, stuff is a bit pricey in the student areas that you'll spend nearly all of your time in but it'll be fairly similar to Leeds or Nottingham, definitely not London kind of prices.

The Union is fantastic, voted one of the best in the UK I think. I wouldn't recommend it as a place to get food as there are plenty of nicer, cheaper places within 5-10 minutes walk. They put on events fairly often which are quite well run and a decent price. There are hundreds of societies that you can join, so there's something for everyone to do and they're generally very inviting to people who have never taken part before.
Hey all, I'm currently an access student applying for MBiol biochemistry. I received a letter last week inviting me for an interview and tour of the department. I was just curious about a few things. On the letter it stated they like to interview application studying 'non-traditional' qualifications, or something along those lines. It also mentioned I should prepare myself to answer academic questions. Could anyone tell me anything about this? Obviously studying on an access course means the content is a little more variable and we tend to study different parts of chemistry and biology at different times so I'm not exactly sure what I should revise for the interview. Is my performance at interview assessed and affect my chance of actually receiving a subsequent offer?
Got AACD at AS, but I'm retaking the subject I got a D in this year (y13)

No gap year

I'm predicted A*AB and got made an offer to study Structural Engineering with Architecture if I get AAA.

I've also applied to Heriot-Watt, City University London, Edinburgh and Southampton

applying for architecture at Sheffield, oxford brooks, Manchester, newcastle and Brighton.
my school didn't really do AS's due to the new specification but i predicted A*A*A
I've got portfolio requests from Oxford B, newcastle and Brighton but Sheffield and Manchester haven't said anything
was wondering if others applying for the same course have got replies from them

I applied for architecture and landscape (KK13) but applied to most the same unis as you - got offers from newcastle, sheffield, nottingham, and oxford brooks (all for just architecture) heard from sheffield about 3 weeks after i sent my portfolio.
Hi I just wanted to ask, I'm applying for Health and Human Science and was given an conditional offer. They have asked for 15 credits at distinction and 45 at merit, would they just reject me if I got anything different? Because I've got exams that are pass or fail so I'm confused to how I can get what they have asked and I'm worried I won't get in
Hie, can you help me please what questions can I expect because I applied for health human science too. Are they difficult?

Hi everyone - we know you are extremely excited to apply for your accommodation. The time has nearly come.......please wait until you receive an email from our University of Sheffield Admissions team, which will give you the full details on how to apply for your University accommodation. You need to create a MUSE account before you can do anything else and unfortunately, the Accommodation Office cannot provide this level of detail so are unable to process your applications. We can't wait to speak to you all soon.
