Hello. For my second term of university, I am hoping to be even more frugal and to spend less. I spent a lot in the first term on things I 'wanted' and when I look back, I realise that they just were not needed. Nevertheless, my finances were good, I never needed to ask home for anything and I was even able to afford a £500 deposit/rent on a second-year place. Woo!
So far, I am sticking to the following;
1: No more figures (I collect them, but don't want to buy more)
2: Sticking to a £20 a week food budget (I stick to this and buy practically the same foods each week, going for quantity over quality which isn't as bad as it sounds, and comparing deals. I also only go to the mega Tesco once a week and if I go with a friend, I'll take a fiver at best)
3: Sticking to £20 a month for comic books, I buy too many on sale and I don't even read them. This is my biggest drain of funds and I need to stop being so loose with comics
4: Cancelling Netflix - Simply as I barely use it, and have plenty of comics/youtube clips to keep me entertained
5: Not buying any books - I have many that need to be read
6: Buying a pass for a weekly event of socialising, it is cheaper through the pass and I hate clubbing so yay
7: Limiting alcohol (I drink cheap cider so that works)
8: Not buying clothes - I bought tonnes at home i nthe sale, so no need to buy anymore
Is there anything else I can do? In reality, I don't need to be frugal but its a personal thing because I like to spend lavishly (I had a part-time job for two years) on things I want. When I was younger I was very frugal, and I prefer having more money than spending it on rubbish I only want. Thanks.
