Is snitching appropriate here?

Hi,
I know this might sound weird but i really don't know what to do.
Someone I'm friends with (not best friends) has posted a video on her snapchat story, of a nude that someone has sent her, with like laughing faces.
We're 15, and so i would have to assume that the person is also underage.
I honestly feel like i should report her to snapchat, because hundreds of her contacts will have seen this, not to mention it's illegal.
However part of me thinks that this could ruin her life is she gets in trouble, and although this is wrong, I would feel very guilty if i did this to her.
Some other guy in my school the other year distributed pictures of a girl, and he's now a registered sex offender, so obviously i know how serious these allegations are

Please help, and let me know what you would do
Im not trying to be a snitch, i just feel so bad of the guy

Also, what would you justify to be acceptable times to snitch?

Tell your friend to be careful, dont report them but just let your friend know to don't do anything stupid or send anything back

I mean technically she's sharing child pornography depending on how old the person in the picture is, which is not exactly legal.

I don't use social media (except Facebook which I am giving up) so I don't experience these problems...

I ask because there's no point ruining her life if everyone involved is cool with it. But if it's a non consensual thing, I'd say the OP straight up has a duty to report it to snapchat and maybe her school/police. Because it's non consensual distribution of child pornography.
