audiology personal statement

Im currently in the process of applying to study either psychology or audiology next year but im confused about how to start my personal statement. i was planning on linking audiology with psychology through the mental health issues that can occur from hearing loss such as depression etc
Hi, I'd definitely do separate personal statements for Audiology and psychology- they're quite different subjects so you don't want to make your PS really general to fit them both in. So i'd say research further into the different courses to make a decision now or soon on which one you want to take so you can focus on one or make two separate ones. I'm no expert- just a fellow A2 student struggling to start their own personal statement but I think that UCAS recommended to do different PS for different courses.

Good luck!

Half and Half is what I'd reccomend, or submitting duplicate PS's where accepted

Hi, since very few unis offer the audiology course, i was only planning on applying to two unis for audiology and then three for psychology. im an interested in both and am still trying to get work experience so i can narrow my choice down but until then i would like to combine both to make one personal statement. The problem is im not sure if im talking about both courses enough.

Get more work experience then decide on a course. Audiology courses will almost certainly cover some health psychology. But a psychology course will probably not mention hearing loss at all (at least not from a clinical point of view). Clinical topics like depression tend not to be covered in all that much detail either. BPS accredited courses usually have a set outline for the first year or two before students can pick optional modules which tend to introduce them to 'specialist' areas in a broad way.
