Top up year finance

Hi all

I'm confused about how maintenance and tuition fee loans are sorted for students going on to a top up year

I'm currently studying a 2 year foundation degree and looking to go on to do a 1 year top up bsc degree, will I be elegible for both loans in this circumstance? If so can I apply for the maximum amount or will this be reduced?

Thank you

yes and yes assuming you meet the normal criteria.

Student funding is degree length +1

Foundation is 2 years so your funding goes to degree length -1.

That means they will fund from year 2 onwards.

It may be you want to join year 2 instead of 3 depending on the course and uni. ofc if year 3 is fine and you have id'd a course then yes assuming you are UK citizen and resident for last 3 years, plus whatever your parents earn then you can apply for maintenance and fees.

the ucas search tool is quite good at finding top ups.
