Please help! Gift year/false start?

I'm having such a meltdown trying to find up to date information on this :frown:

I'm really not sure I'm on the right degree, what I feel I want to do is totally different and would mean leaving the university as well as the course. I don't fully know how this would work?

I'm just finishing the first semester of first year at the moment and I've read that you can get an extra year of funding for "false starts"?

A.) Is this possible? Would it mean I received the full amount of funding/maint loan for the new course as if I hadn't started this one?

B.) Would I have to be starting the new course in September? I think I've missed the deadline for reapplying to courses? What would I do?

Hi there,

Every student is entitled to an additional year of funding; so, if you decide to leave the course and start again, you'll still receive full funding for every year of the new course.

Also, you don't need to start this September: you can start really at any time.
