Reapplying to Cambridge

Hello, I've just finished A levels. These were my grades and UMS.

Full A Levels
Maths: A* [589/600]
Chemistry: A* [461/500]
Physics: A [420/500]

AS Levels
Further Maths: A [240/240]
Biology: A [189/200]
Welsh: A [Unsure on UMS, was a while ago]

So overall 2A*, 1A & 3a (GCSE: 11a* & 1a)

I've been accepted into my first choice uni after being rejected without an interview from Cambridge for Natural Sciences. But I've had my heart set on Cambridge for a long while. I've decided to email my current uni which I've been accepted on about the possibility of a deferred entry so that I can go back to my local sixth form in order to redo physics A2 and finish further maths A2.

Has anyone ever been in a similar situation and do you have any recommendations on things which I can do to stand a better chance at being accepted? Thanks for reading. (Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I couldn't find the forum for the applying to uni section).
