Help and Advice on COVID-19

Hi all,

We hope everyone at TSR are safe and well during these difficult and uncertain times.

As we have noted that many of you are asking questions regarding the impact that schools closure and exams cancellation may have on your university applications and future plans, we have decided to open a new channel to keep you posted on the COVID-19 developments.

We are happy to help with any questions you may have, and we will try our best to provide you with up-to-date responses.

You can also find some useful information about our approaches to teaching and learning for the current academic year by visiting https://www.mmu.ac.uk/student-life/your-safety/covid/

For September 2021 teaching our aim is to provide as much on-campus teaching as possible, but we are preparing for the following three scenarios for different types of learning activity:

no restrictions

social distancing restrictions

full national or local lockdown restrictions

We have developed in-depth experience of flexible delivery over the past year and, if necessary, we will aim to move swiftly between approaches to support your studies. You can find information on how we are preparing for these scenarios here: https://www.mmu.ac.uk/study/studying-in-september-2021#

We also wanted to share with the community that we will be hosting Virtual Open Days for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.
We value the importance of interaction with our prospective students and we understand you are all eager to have a first-hand experience on what universities can offer.

You will be able to attend a virtual course taster session, as well as taking a virtual tour of our accommodation and ask questions to our support staff through live chat.

Here are the links to book your attendance to the Virtual Open Days:

Undergraduate: https://www2.mmu.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/visit/

Postgraduate: https://www2.mmu.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/visit/onlineopenday/

Last, but not least, we acknowledge that such major disruption on our daily lives has caused anxiety and stress to many regarding their future.

Is there any news regarding PGCE Primary for start in September in relation to covid 19. I know a lot of other universities have given out some advice and what may go ahead if restriction lifting goes to plan.
I understand if you have nothing to tell me though.

Thanks

Hi @smivers1109 :hello:,

Glad to hear you're considering starting PGCE Primary Education (QTS) at Manchester Met :^_^:.

As we speak, we expect our courses to start in September and go ahead as expected. However, due to the fluidity of the COVID-19 situation, we will get in touch with our offer holders to give them relevant updates.

In the meantime, you can refer to our dedicated FAQ's website for more information here: https://www2.mmu.ac.uk/coronavirus/prospective-students/.

I know this is not much of an answer at the moment, but we will ensure to provide relevant updates, as soon as we have any.

Cheers,

Luca
