Good evening everyone...At this point, I'm trying to be as optimistic as I can, although it feels almost impossible
. This is my first real 'update' and I HATEEE to start it off by being kinda negative but we are, in fact, in a second lockdown (yes, I know it came into effect last week
)!! ANDDD.. to make things worse my bubble has had to be sent home due to a number of cases, so for the past few days I've been self-isolating and (to my despair
) doing online school. Other than that, I've been doing pretty well (the unfinished coursework begs to differ but we don't talk about that
).
umm.. studying and school "stuff"I felt as though I was quite productive (for once) despite it taking me at least 2 hours to stop watching youtube and getting up to do some studying. I had an upcoming Biology exam so I studied for that, I used this website called "Physics and Maths Tutor" I found it relatively helpful as the detailed notes on the topic I was studying really filled any missing gaps in my knowledge. Later on, I completed a practice paper in preparation for my Biology exam.
OHHHHH... I also created a daily planner on this app I found out about called "notion", its been awesome, and its actually worked SO FAR.. (for me anyway
) I'll leave the link to template I used at the bottom if you want
. Other than Biology, I didn't really get much studying done this week (which is not good) but I really needed a week where I wasn't stressing about school because half-term really did not provide that!
Onto my subjects...
English LanguageI still haven't quite got the ropes of how to structure my writing in English Language, but I will get there (hopefully). We study 3 different extracts a week and so far I'm quite enjoying it, although I'm not really a fan of the long essay writing.
BUT YEAHHHH enough of me complaining.
MathsThis week we covered histograms, which is quite a straight forward topic so it didn't take too long to understand.
In Maths we're pretty much going over old topics because we have mocks coming up (which I am NOT looking forward too). In terms of revision, I hAvEn'T dOnE aNy, no I'm kidding, I completed vectors and translations this week (not too shabby if you ask me).
HistoryMY FAVOURITE SUBJECTTT!!!
So this week we covered the significance of the Potsdam Conference which I didn't find too challenging, after that, we did an exam on it, I got an 8
(not to brag or anything
)
In terms of revision, we do not speak of it.
French (or should i say Français *smirk*)This week we had exams, which i thought went well, I mean it is my flipping second language so it better have gone well!!! *takes a deep breath* Anyway, we did a listening, writing and reading exam, but not a speaking because, if you do a language, you may know, the speaking segment has been removed for this year's examinations.
BiologyI had an exam this week which wasn't too bad, then we went over the cell cycle, mitosis and specialised cells.
PhysicsHFHSDFBHB WE HAD COVER FOR BOTH OF OUR LESSONS FOR THE WEEK WHICH WAS VERYYYY ANNOYING (as you can tell i may still be slightly annoyed) but it wasn't my teacher's fault, these things can't be helped...
ChemistryWhat did I do in Chemistry this week... I actually cannot remember which pretty much sums it up for my passion for chemistry LMAOOO. Just kidding
, this week we covered atomic structure, which I need to study because I seem to struggle to get my head around the whole aspect even though its not that difficult.
Religious StudiesThis week we covered Islamic Beliefs and Practices. I quite enjoy RS as it is quite a straight forward subject. I've started using the OAKS academy online lessons as a way to study, I think it helps a lot so if any of you do RS maybe check it out HAHAHA.
what I've been up toIn all honesty, I've spent a bit of time on tiktok and playing among us but heyyyy, a little tiktok and among us never hurt anybody, am I right!?
ALL THE STUFF THAT COMES AFTERSOOOO...
I haven't quite decided what A-levels I'm choosing yet, but I am currently considering Politics as one. A few sixth forms have gave online talks to my year group at school which has been kinda helpful.
I have mocks coming up soon and I really need to focus on studying as I need these grades to be REALLLLYYYY good if I'm putting them on an application for sixth form.
In therms of GCSEs this summer, the government has yet to announce whether they'll be going ahead, so as far as we are aware, they'll still be commencing in June. However, it is speculated that they may be cancelled as both Scotland and now Wales have cancelled their's. I swear this uncertainty is killing me
!!
ANYWAY, I hope you all have a great week (if anyone is reading this).
