Hello everyone

This is Lancaster University’s thread for Clearing 2021.

We know that this can be a time of uncertainty with some big decisions having to be made quickly. We are here to help.

You may have questions about specific programmes of study. We can help with that.

You may want to know what life at a campus uni in the north of England is like. We can let you know what we think.

You may want to know about admissions, accommodation, coming to visit us, scholarships and bursaries, or other really specific detailed stuff. We can answer those questions.

Below are some useful links to get you started. Check them out, but then come and ask us questions about them.

Thank you so much - also my firm and insurance is uclan but I chose it because it was closer to me do you think it’s worth that extra drive everyday to go to a better uni which would be Lancaster
Hi @yasmin123786
I think I just replied to your other thread! But it’s totally your decision when deciding what you think would be best for you and where you think you would enjoy to study. Let me know if you have any questions about studying at Lancaster, I’m not a law student but would be happy to share some insight to my experiences.

Hi there
I obtained a verbal offer around 9am this morning
Any idea when the emails are coming out to confirm this? Might have misheard my email.
Thanks
Will

Hello!
Well done on your offer! They are trying to get the emails out as quickly as possible but if you could send us your name and UCAS number through a Direct Message on one of our socials (don't send it publicly!) we will be able to check that the email is on its way to you!

Let me know if there is anything else I can help with!

Hi, just wondering how long it takes for the uni to consider your application? I submitted it as a clearing choice on UCAS and hoping to get accommodation sorted. Thanks, Grace

Hi @gracer0612
Great to hear you are interested in coming to Lancaster. Have you been able to give the Lancaster clearing team a ring on 0800 298 9542? This is the best way to get through to them.

With regards to accommodation Lancaster University send out accommodation offers shortly after confirming places on courses - you should hear from the accommodation team via email in the near future. Most people will apply to live on campus in their 1st year but there are also places to live in Lancaster itself.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Hi @gracer0612,

Just to add to what Nia said:
We will be getting through all the applications as quickly as we can, hopefully you will hear back asap!
Don't be too worried about accommodation, as all first years are guaranteed accommodation- so don't worry you'll have somewhere to live.

While you're waiting for a reply, might be worth looking through the accommodation we have on offer and see what you might be interested in!

Hi,
If i apply to private accommodation instead of uni accommodation am I less likely to make a lot of friends due to there not being as many people at the uni . Or is it more that students are evenly spread over private and university accommodation?
Hi @jemrulio
That’s a difficult question to answer because I don’t have experiences of private accommodation so I’m not sure what it’s like making friends there! However it tends to be that many undergraduates in first years try to live on campus if they offered a place there. So living on campus tends to be good for socialising in first year. Although, I am unsure of what it’s like in first year on private accommodation. Although I’m my experience in 2nd/ year students often look more towards houses/ private accommodation then.
Hope this helps
Lancaster university student ambassador Holly
