Why people are not interested in polygyny

Why should they be? Most women don't want to share a man and for a man to have to emotionally and financially maintain several women must be a huge burden. In any case, I assume that in much of the world it's illegal.

But in ancient era it was completely legal.because women allowed their husband to remarry.
Then why it should not be legal in today's world????

Excluding marriage if you want that and can find that then knock yourself out. Nothing inherently wrong with polygamy or polyandry but between emotional and financial burdens, many people don't actually like it.
