Are images of women in swimwear and revealing clothing considered to be pornographic?

It’s obviously not a good idea to regularly look at nude or hardcore porn (not that I do anyway because I think most of it is rubbish and unauthentic), but could the same be said for women in bikinis, one-piece swimsuits, crop tops and even modest outfits that accentuate their figure? I ask this because I spend quite a lot of time looking at images of women in the Showbiz section of the Daily Mail (even though I hate the actual newspaper) and I get aroused by this enough that I don’t need to resort to nude or hardcore content to orgasm. I wouldn’t say I’m addicted since this hasn’t affected my work, hobbies or family relationships, but generally would you say that what I’m doing is a cause for concern despite the fact that the content I look at doesn’t reveal any nude private parts?
No, it's not pornographic. You're turning something that isn't intended to be sexual into, well, something that is.

But hey. Whatever does it for you, I guess. Probably not something you should share with the women in your life unless you want a lecture on the way you sexualise women.

So are you trying to say that it’s not the type of image I’m looking at (whether the woman is naked or not) that is the problem, but the way in which I am sexualising the image that is (which for some people could be the same regardless of the state of undress of the woman).

Does this mean that masturbating to a woman wearing modest (but still attractive) clothing is worse than looking at nude or hardcore porn without sexualising the content or getting naturally aroused by it?

Well put it this way...

When I was about 6-7, I used to look at the lingerie pictures in my mums Littlewoods catalogue and I found them attractive (but not really in a sexual way, if you get my drift).

Another time, I was in the gym sauna, and there were some girls in 2 piece swimwear there with some other guys with them talking amongst themselves. There was also another guy not part of that group of a "certain background" (I won't say for risk of triggering / offending), who leant over to me and we had the following conversation:-

Him:- Those girls have no shame.
Me: - What do you mean?
Him:- Well look at them, showing their bodies off, I mean.. blah blah etc.
Me:- Well... you've got no shame mate
Him:- Huh,
Me:- Cause if I was a skinny little s**t like you, I wouldn't be showing my body off either!.
Him:- Stunned look on his face
Me:- See, it's not nice when people make un-solicited comments about your body, is it?!?

I think the lesson here is, if you want to get your jollies off to women in swimwear Lingerie, Lycra etc. that's your business... but it's probably best to keep that strictly to yourself. Oh, and no gawping or stalking lol

This reminds me a lot of when I was younger. I would look through various fashion and beauty magazines and admire the beautiful women in these, even if they were relatively modest in what they were wearing. At my university, the library had a stash of Vogue magazines and while I was doing all nighters and nobody was there, I couldn't resist taking a sneak peek. I don't believe there is any shame in doing this (or for that matter feeling more attracted to women wearing more clothing - it might be a sign you admire their personality too!). At the end of the day, attraction is a natural part of humans and trying to suppress those feelings is just going to cause problems further down the line.

I guess the moral of the story is, don't make unsolicited remarks on other people's bodies otherwise you may risk receiving the same kind of comments on your own. If you think what you're going to say to someone might offend them, keep it to yourself!
